This complete Longboat Key condo remodeling project was designed with a soft, taupe and cream range of colors to achieve the ‘beach side retreat’ soothing effect while maintaining the upscale, transitional style these clients are accustomed to. The perimeter cabinetry was custom painted in a soft ivory color created by Sherwin Williams. The island cabinetry was stained in a custom driftwood finish for contrast. Quartz tops were used to keep a very clean surface look with no marbling or movement, adding to the “contemporary” side of transitional design. On a vertical plane, the back-splash mosaic of linear ivory and taupe glass, gracefully ties the colors together and brings pattern to the clean palette.
Also of worthy mention is the 30″ x 30″ Italian porcelain floor tile. This tile is a fusion of the soft tans and grays with a distinctive look of acid etched concrete. It’s overall effect is also soothing yet cutting edge. The window treatments for the living room, dining room and kitchen begin with the acclaimed Hunter Douglas Duette or Honeycomb shades. These shades rank #1 in insulation and temperature control, but they are known for their clean visual appearance and light filtering capabilities. They complete the look and sustain the clean, upscale feel.
Overall, the project fully blends the calming, effect of a coastal residence with interesting patterns and upscale accents
